Some of you might be aware that a new movie, You Again, came out in theaters recently. I was lucky enough to spend the day with one of my besties on Monday and we decided to see it knowing our significant others would have no interest. With a star-studded cast including Kristen Bell, Jamie Lee Curtis, Sigourney Weaver, and Betty White, it has a cutesy storyline of teen angst and female rivalry, and an over-the-top fantabulous wedding. It's an adorable chick flick/romantic comedy and, while I normally hate these syrupy sweet assassinations on love and marriage which continue to perpetuate an unrealistic view of what it takes to make a relationship work and a false sense of "happily ever after" once you walk down the aisle, it had one thing in it that will make me go see it again - Kristin Chenoweth.
Kristin Chenoweth has long been a staple on Broadway, but really blazed her way to the top with her rendition of the ambitious, blonde, and popUlar Galinda in Wicked. Since then she has made a number of memorable TV appearances including the lovable drunk, April Rhodes on my favorite show of all time, Glee.
Her portrayal of Georgia King, Wedding Extraordinator, in You Again, really boosted an otherwise C+ movie to a B and was a great way to cap off a fabulous day with my girl!
